Guess what time it is… that’s right September is here! Which means it is time for Mrs. Fever’s September Song Project to make it’s encore. I participated in the project last year with the theme of 30 days of music. I used a list I found online to inspire the daily prompt with “Music as Muse” and it was a lot of fun.
Before I dive into how this will work, I have a couple things to address. First- thank you to those that joined in the last prompt of R&B. I realize not all the prompts are going to be as popular but it was still fun. Second-
The bi-weekly prompt will continue (except for September, this one runs all month) with a minor adjustment. I have played around with different days of the week starting and ending the prompts. The easiest for me to maintain is starting the prompts on the 1st running through the 15th, then the second prompt running the 16th through the 30th each month. This will keep it consistent for my benefit as well as yours.
So what’s the prompt for this month?
Mrs. Fever’s project is pretty open- each post should be musically-inspired and you can post as much or as little as you want. The topics are endless: genres, lyrics, instruments, decades, bands, song titles, etc. She does ask that you note in the post that you are participating and link it back to her page found here. She has a badge as well that you can include in your posts. Lastly please be sure to comment on her prompt post so she can follow along.
How does Musically Ranting tie into the September Song Project?
Easy- if you missed any of the previous 8 prompts you can write about them and link them into this month. No rules, no gimmicks- okay well the usual rules apply as this is an 18+ site. However, you can link up as many posts as you would like for the month.
The previous prompts are listed below with links to each one:
Tidbit of useful housekeeping- yes that’s right I’m a domestic goddess..hahaha
If you are planning on writing every day or as close to it as possible, I suggest creating a category and linking the category page in Mrs. Fever’s comments as well as the InLinkz on this page. This will make it easier for those reading along to find all of your posts. If you would like to see how it’s done, my category for last year is here.
Lastly, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to either one of us using the contact forms on our sites or I am reachable also on Twitter.
Most importantly– Have fun and let the music guide you!
Don’t forget to grab the badge and please link your post(s) below on the InLinkz. The linky tool opens on Tuesday, September 1st at 9am CST and will close on Wednesday, September 30th at 9pm CST. (The countdown is on my sidebar as a reminder)
