Musically Ranting #15: Decades- 1970s

Thank you to all that shared their music of love for the last prompt. If you missed reading any of them you can see who joined in here. It seems like so long since we ventured into the decades of music, so this prompt is geared toward another fan favorite- the 1970s.

So many genres came to life in this decade: Funk, Soul, R&B, Pop, Hard Rock, Soft Rock and Disco were played endlessly on vinyl records. The late 70s was also the birth of another young music style: hip-hop.

So many artists hit it big during the 70s: such as Elton John, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, The Who, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie.. I could go on and on.

The 1970s also saw an end to one of my favorite bands- The Beatles. If that wasn’t hard enough to swallow; there were two deaths that also rocked the music world- Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

We want to know which genre of music or musician from the 1970s tickles your fancy? Was there a heart-throb of the time that you dreamed about? Have fun with this prompt and if you have another direction you want to take it that’s fine too!
